Games Gone Wild with SoftXpand

It was probably about 22 years ago when my older brother and I opened our Nintendo Entertainment System, affectionately called the NES or simply Nintendo. Games like Contra, Metroid, and of course Super Mario Brothers were a great way to spend a rainy afternoon, but I’m sure I’m not the only little brother out there who had to battle for that Player 1 Controller.

Of course it’s now 22 years later and the original NES isn’t as commonly seen, tucked under the television in the living room. The new systems have evolved significantly, where you can now play other opponents or on teams using the interconnectedness of the World Wide Web…the only problem is…if I’m on my computer, nobody else can play the same game unless they have their own computer. Sure there are headsets and the online play, but if you want to actually hang out with your friends and play games in each other’s company how can you go about doing this? Do you unplug your computer, pack it up and bring it over to your pal’s house?

You could….but you don’t have to. SoftXpand is a virtualization software that allows you to split one PC into multiple computers, allowing as many monitors, keyboards and mice as your computer has inputs. One game can be installed, and friends can now play computer games together….in the same room! Sounds like something from the future, but it’s actually here now.
